The guest at night (funny experience)
I live in an all Male hostel in Bangalore. Because of the pandemic most of the guys had gone home. And many areas are empty. A few nights back I was using the toilet, I heard a noise in the middle of the night. I was sure there was someone in the common area and went there to investigate. At first, I couldn't see anybody when I looked again, there she was hiding in a corner. A female! in an all Male hostel. I tried to be friendly and approach her. But she appeared to be in no mood for friendship. I backed off and went into my room. I looked for her in the day but she was not be seen. But that night, there she was again in the common area. she looked tired and hungry. I had some chicken with me and offered her some. At first, she was hesitant. But when I moved away, she devoured the chicken as fast as she could. I thought I could try being a bit more friendly but she would have none of it." She is a wild one", I thought to myself and returned to my room. Few nights passed like this, and she was away during the day. last night I offered her food, and for the first time she appeared to be friendly, she tilted her head towards me, looked in my eyes, and whispered "Meow".

The cookie, a polite child and a spoiled brat
I live in a hostel in Bangalore and a woman comes to clean the premises. Today morning, she had her son with her. I looked at him and thought he was a nice boy. I had a Cadbury biscuit with me with comes with its individual covering. I gave the cookie to the boy. He took it and replied, "Thank you, Uncle".Such a polite kid, my heart melted at his soft words.
It also brought memories from 30 years back. My parents used to work in a school in Kodaikanal and used to visit a Spanish catholic priest. His name was Father Simon. He was an old man and was kind. Whenever I used to visit with my parents there he used to give me ginger biscuits. They were so yum. I was a 4-year-old or so. One day when we visited, he was talking to my parents. He had forgotten to give the ginger biscuits. But I knew where he kept them. So I just went to his store and started helping myself with his ginger biscuits. I had one and saw him behind me. He looked half amused and half irritated. He cried out ."Oh, you spoiled brat". It still remembers it and brings a mischievous smile on my face.
A shriek that I still remember
I was watching a clip on Instagram where a lioness mourns over her dead cub. For some reason, it brought back to my mind a memory 10 years back. I was in Trivandrum, Kerala and one evening I had gone out to drink tea from a nearby teashop. I saw an old lady and her son walking in the opposite direction. Both looked extremely poor and had dirty clothes. She was holding his hand tightly. When I watched closely the Son seemed to be around 20 years old and was mentally unstable or was had severe down syndrome. It was clear that this old mother looked after him and they were homeless and helpless. Somehow Son's arm slipped from the mother's grasp and he went from the sidewalk to the road. A car was passing by and nearly hit him. The mother let out a loud shriek, so much in pain, sad, so horrifying. But luckily nothing happened to the son and she held his hand him and pulled him to the footpath and walked past me. I still remember the shriek, in the depths of my heart, I could realize how agonizing was it for the mother. Words can't express the pain in that cry. I was so worried for her and her son but could only pray she and her son would be ok.
The dog with a personality (funny experience)
live in a hostel in Bangalore, and next to my hostel there are three stray dogs. One fit guy one girl and another guy who is a bit injured. They know me and are kind of friendly with me; as I give them a random biscuit or two while passing by.
